PROGRAM OUTCOMES (PO)

PO1. Sufficient knowledge in mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering topics related to Metallurgy and Materials Engineering; ability to apply theoretical and practical knowledge in these fields and to model and solve engineering problems.

PO2. Ability to identify, define, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by selecting and applying appropriate analysis and modeling methods.

PO3. Ability to design a complex system, process, device, or product to meet specific requirements under realistic constraints and conditions by applying modern design methods.

PO4. Ability to develop, select, and use modern techniques and tools necessary for engineering applications encountered as a Metallurgy and Materials Engineer; ability to effectively use information technologies.

PO5. Ability to design experiments, conduct experiments, collect data, analyze and interpret results for the investigation of engineering problems.

PO6. Ability to work individually and effectively in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams.

PO7. Ability to communicate effectively in Turkish both orally and in writing; knowledge of at least one foreign language.

PO8. Awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning; ability to access information, follow developments in science and technology, and continuously update oneself.

PO9. Awareness of professional and ethical responsibility.

PO10. Knowledge of project management and business applications such as risk management and change management; awareness of entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable development.

PO11. Knowledge of the impacts of engineering applications on health, environment, and safety in universal and societal dimensions, as well as contemporary issues; awareness of the legal consequences of engineering solutions.

PO12. Awareness in the areas of quality awareness and quality control in material selection, product development, and production processes, as well as sustainability, in engineering applications.

PO13. Ability to approach problems encountered in engineering applications with self-confidence.
